RASASC is a UK Registered Charity based in Guildford, Surrey, founded in 1992 to help male and female survivors of sexual violence. Clients calling our confidential Phone Helpline or attending our counselling sessions can talk to us in complete safety.

www.angelsurvive.com - A support site (chat and forum) for victims and survivors of abuse. Includes forums for triggers, articles, partners, survivors' stories, self-harm etc. Was previously ASUK (Abuse Survivors UK), a site run by survivors themselves (rather than therapeutists), with an emphasis on empathy.

www.befrienders.org - Works worldwide to provide emotional support and reduce suicide. Information in over a dozen languages.

www.havoca.org - Offers help and support for adult victims of past childhood abuse. Site includes very informative links.

www.lanternproject.org.uk - (prev. victimsnolonger.org.uk) - Help and support for victims of abuse (sexual, domestic or racial) and bullying, with particular emphasis on child abuse.

www.napac.org.uk - NAPAC (National Association for People Abused in Childhood) is a registered charity that supports childhood abuse survivors. Site includes independent online forums.

www.rapecrisis.org.uk - Rape Crisis (England & Wales) helps to co-ordinate the national network of Rape Crisis Centres on behalf of women and girls that have been raped or experienced another form of sexual violence - whether as adults or as children. Information about rape and sexual violence for those in need, including family, friends, students and professionals.

www.womensaid.org.uk/survivors-handbook/ - A free online resource from Women's Aid providing practical support and information for women living with domestic violence.

www.fatherstouch.com - Website of author Donald D'Haene, who wrote of survival, struggle and strife in his book Father's Touch - his memoirs about enduring years of sexual abuse at the hands of his father.

www.survivorsuk.org - Registered charity with a +20 year track record of providing info and counselling for understanding male childhood sexual abuse and rape.

Specialist Information

Family Planning Association - "Putting sexual health on the agenda" - Straightforward information, advice and support to all people across the UK on all aspects of sexual health, sex and relationships. Includes a useful Find-A-GUM-Clinic facility.

MOSAC - Providing practical and emotional support to parents and carers of sexually abused children.

Roofie Foundation - Britain's key agency for issues surrounding drink spiking, date rape and Drug Facilitated Sexual Abuse (DFSA).

Suzy Lamplugh Trust - the pioneer of 'Personal Safety' as an important issue in society following the disappearance in 1986 of Suzy, a young estate agent. Now used by the government and the police as a key advisor on safety policy.

Truth About Rape - TAR has a campaign website committed to making a difference to how society understands rape.

Women's Aid - A key national charity working to end domestic violence against women and children. Informative and engaging website.

Survivors Trust Logo The UK has a network of over 125 specialist agencies offering advice and support for victims of rape and/or sexual abuse. All are independently run but most (including RASASC in Guildford) are members of The Survivors Trust (TST), an umbella organisation that promotes shared ideas and resources - visit www.thesurvivorstrust.org for details.

They will be happy to discuss your options and other details “off the record”, so that you can make up your mind, if you are unsure about reporting or giving forensic evidence (DNA samples). They will also be able to take you to the Surrey SARC to record your evidence.
