Running for RASASC in the
Adidas Women's 5km 2011

The Adidas Women’s 5K Challenge is a fun run for women of all ages taking place within the beautiful setting of London's Hyde Park. The distance is relatively short (5km, or 3¼ miles) and every year thousands of women enter to raise huge sums for a vast number of charities, both national and local.

Organised by the same group who organise the London Marathon, it's the biggest and best women-only fun run in the UK and really is a fun day out. You don't even have to run - you can walk the route if you wish! Among previous entrants, RASASC volunteer Cassie ran the 5K Challenge in September 2008 in Hyde Park and raised nearly £400 for us.

  Update (July 2011):   We have now two runners entering the 2011 Women's 5K in support of RASASC - mother and daughter Sheila and Gemma. Sheila is our Independent Sexual Violence Advisor and Gemma was among those who abseiled for RASASC in June. We thank them for taking up the challenge on our behalf, and we wish them every success.

  Update (Aug 2011):   Funrunner Sheila (who is also our Independent Sexual Violence Advisor, or ISVA) now has an online sponsorship donations page specially set up at www.mycharitypage.com/Sheila4RASASC - or alternatively you can send a sponsorship cheque for Sheila, made payable to 'RASASC', to Sheila 5K, RASASC, PO Box 1009, Guildford, Surrey GU1 9EE. Do please be generous, dig deep and give her all the support you can!
