RASASC UP KILIMANJARO !
Mid-January 2012
Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
Prior to the London Marathon 2012 our selected runner Nicola will spend some days trekking
on Mount Kilimanjaro, the largest free-standing mountain in the world and the highest in Africa.
A dormant volcano rising majestically from the rolling plains of Tanzania to a peak of
5,895m (19,341ft), well above the cloud line, Kilimanjaro's upper slopes are deceptively dangerous
having claimed more lives than Everest. Camping in the wild and acclimatising over a few days,
Nicola hopes to avoid altitude sickness and reach the summit in aid of RASASC.
Donations in support of her double fundraising attempt can be made at
www.mycharitypage.com/nicolahenderson
or send a cheque to RASASC (Kilimanjaro Trek), PO Box 1009, Guildford, Surrey GU1 9EE, payable to RASASC.
All donations in support, however small, are gratefully received.
