Support us by donating!
There are several easy ways that you can donate any amount(s) to RASASC.
Here we describe how to make financial donations by post, or online, or via the taxman.
Direct Donations Online
Charity Choice is our preferred online means of donating because they
levy no admin fees or charges.
Our Charity Choice page
enables you to make single donations, either by name (so that we can claim a
further 28% from the Inland Revenue as Gift Aid) or anonymously.
Charity Choice
(the UK's leading charity reference book) runs a secure online donations service in
conjunction with The Co-Operative Bank Plc, using SSL authentication and encryption technology
so that all of your personal information (including your credit card number) is unreadable to anyone
outside the transaction process. And unlike some other online donations services, neither Charity Choice
nor The Co-Operative Bank Plc will make any charge for processing or administering your donation to us.
CAF Bank Online
is our bank (ie. where we hold our account).
They also enable you to donate, either by name or anonymously, directly into our account. To donate, click on
this link to the CAF search page, then enter the keyword "RASASC" without a location to find our
account listed.
Our page there has a "Make A Donation" button.
CAF Bank Ltd provides
tailor-made financial products and services exclusively for the voluntary sector, being a subsidiary of
CAF (Charities Aid Foundation) - a UK registered charity which provides services
that are both charitable and financial.
When donating, you will often see or hear of requests to "Gift Aid it"
in conjunction. Gift Aid is an HMRC scheme that increases the value of donations to charities by
allowing the charities to reclaim basic rate tax on your gift - making your donation
worth an extra 28p for every pound given, at no extra cost to you the donor
- and if you pay higher rate tax you can use Gift Aid to claim extra relief on your donations.
Our page about Gift Aid includes a calculator so that you can see the
difference it makes - all we need is your Gift Aid declaration.

Other ways to donate
Tax Repayment Donation to RASASC
If you complete a Self Assessment tax return and are entitled to a tax refund, you can choose to have
all or part of the repayment sent directly to our charity. This is called ‘Self Assessment Giving’ or
‘SA Donate’. We are registered with
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) to accept part or all of your tax repayment
via your tax return form. Our unique reference code for this purpose is UAA11NG.
You can also ask that the repayment is made as a Gift Aid donation. If you want
to make the refund a Gift Aid donation, the charity can claim back 25 pence for each pound donated.
You can make the donation under Gift Aid providing you have paid at least as much
tax as the charity will reclaim.
Legacy Planning
If you've decided to leave a legacy to RASASC, your solicitor can advise you about the
precise
wording to use in your will.
But if you've decided to draw up your will yourself,
here is our suggested wording
for a legacy clause:
“I give to RASASC (Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre) in Guildford, Registered Charity
No.1059154 the sum of £ ....... free of all taxes, for its charitable purposes, and
I declare that the receipt of the charity’s authorised officer will be sufficient discharge to my
executors.”
We plan to produce a full guidance brochure on the subject in the near future.
